    111101 - Karate Kids

    The One Heart Karate classes are led by 5th degree Black Belt instructor Master Keith Burke. Students learn the fundamentals of Isshinryu Karate. They mix traditional martial arts with fun activities designed to reinforce key principles while helping to improve balance, increase strength and enhance coordination. Through this popular program, which has helped hundreds of young people since 2002, students begin their journey in martial arts. They will develop greater self-discipline, self-control and self-confidence while learning valuable self-defense skills.

    The intermediate/advanced program is for returning students only.

    The teen/black belt program is for returning students by special invitation only.

    111113 - KickStart!

    KickStart! is a developmental program for toddlers ages 18 months to 5 years old designed around the sport of soccer. Instructors will use an age specific curriculum to refine large motor skills at our youngest ages, graduating to full games for our older players. A great pre-cursor to any organized sport/activity. There is a $25.00 uniform fee due at the first class. Participants will receive a jersey, shorts and soccer ball!

    Pee-Wees (18-24 months): Toddlers and their parents work together playing a variety of organized games. Toddlers work at their own pace to meet the objective of each activity. Listening skills, balance and motor skills are developed. Parental involvement is REQUIRED.

    Rookies (2 year olds): This Parent/Toddler class begins to introduce basic fundamentals, balance and motor skills required to manipulate a soccer ball using their feet. Parent involvement is REQUIRED.

    Pros (3-4 year olds): A faster paced class where the introduction of soccer skills becomes more prominent. Dribbling, scoring and some team play will be included with other soccer-related activities.

    All-Stars (4.5-6 year olds): Children will learn to work as a group as we introduce small-sided games (2v2, 3v3).

    111211 - Twinkle Babies Dance

    AGES 2.5 - 4 Years Old

    Twinkle Babies is an introductory Ballet and Creative Movement-based dance class where young dancers learn to follow basic steps while following directions in a positive class environment. This class does not include parent participation; dancers should be able to be in class on their own. First time students should enroll in 2.5-3.5, students who have enrolled previously may register for 3-4.

    Dress Code - Leotard and tights. Pink leather ballet shoes. Please, no satin slippers! Shoes and dancewear may be purchased at Lucy & Ethel's in Clinton Township at Canal and Hayes, or visit www.mandasdance.com/mtpr for an Amazon link to order dancewear.

    All dancers will participate in a dance recital on Sunday, June 7th at 12:00 pm at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. Please read more information at www.mandasdance.com/mtpr. A $72.00 costume fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee per student, per class, includes recital costume, garment bag and tights.

    • Students are supervised by volunteers

    Participation Requirements
    • Recital participation is not required but highly encouraged! If you do choose to participate in the recital, class attendance is key and dress rehearsal and recital is mandatory. By participating you also agree to follow the rules and to cooperate with all teachers and volunteers. When everyone puts the students first, recital is a great success!

    111212 - Twinkle Stars Dance

    111214 - Show Stars Hip Hop

    Show Stars Hip Hop provides a structured method of learning various Hip-Hop dance movements in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment.

    Dress Code -- Yoga pants, leggings, tank tops, capris and shorts are acceptable. Clean tennis shoes (matching shoes will be chosen based on costumes for the recital.)

    This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching respect, teamwork and sportsmanship. Boys and girls will learn passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense through drills, games and scrimmaging. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

    Join us for a magical Saturday afternoon Fairy Princess Tea Party. Your little Princess will choose a fancy dress to wear and get a royal hairdo complete with a fairy dust wish. Princesses or Pirates are most welcome and will receive accessories to complete their look.

    Everyone will enjoy a tea party at their own reserved private table with a snack tray, tea and a mini ice cream sundae. Our mischievous Castle Fairies will delight you with stories, singing and dancing. There are many photo opportunities in our beautiful tearoom. Everyone in your party needs a ticket to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

    Do you want a night out without your kids? Register with Macomb Township Parks and Recreation to drop your kids off for a fun evening of activities! Kids will be supervised as they swim, eat a pizza dinner and end the night watching a newer release G or PG rated movie (TBA). Pizza dinner and other refreshments and snacks are provided. Life jackets must be Coast Guard approved. Kids are welcome to bring their own snacks.

    Wintery Weather Snapshot 2020 - Winter is about enjoying the cold weather--walks in the snow, playing hockey or ice skating a making a snowman. The most important about being outside is enjoying a cup of Hot Chocolate! 11 x 14 canvas, acrylic paints and collage materials are provided.

    Signs of Spring 2020 - What are the signs of spring--hmm warmer temps, trees budding, and the return of birds making their nests and of course their lovely songs and baby birds yet to born. We will be painting a close-up of a bird's nest, with other signs of Spring--a shamrock, hearts, buds, caterpillar and colorful eggs. 11 x 14 canvas, acrylic paints and collage materials are provided.

    Parent's Night Out - Frozen (pizza included) - See a movie or enjoy a meal while your children have a blast as they create their own Kingdom of Arendelle.

    Our 4-hour adventure will be jammed packed with:

    Toy StoryTM Workshop - Few animated characters are as beloved as our favorite group of toys from Toy StoryTM, and now they're back again with a new story, new adventures, and a few new toys! This workshop will give your student an opportunity to bring their favorite characters to life, experience some of the toys' most exciting adventures and learn some basic elements of robotics. We're prepared to take your learner to infinity and beyond!

    Snapology Yellow Belts Engineers - Young students build fun and simple models using DUPLOฎ blocks. By playing with and manipulating the models, they experience pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles while exploring energy, buoyancy, and balance. Classes include free building time to promote creativity.

    Celebrating Dr. Seuss Workshop (3-year olds can be parent/child class) - This workshop will take your children on an adventure through the Seussical world of Dr. Seuss. Theodore Geisel is regarded as one of the greatest children's authors of all time. He is known for his whimsical, make-believe characters and settings as well as his silly rhyming words. Your children will be challenged to "write their own" story, creating a setting and a character, using LEGOฎ bricks.

    Space Robotics Workshop - Humans have accomplished amazing things in our pursuit to understand the universe, and this program aims to make your learner a part of the story! Snapology's A Universe of Stories Space Robotics program allows children to explore different aspects of space science and deep space exploration through building robotic models that mimic the concepts that they are investigating. They will discuss the movement of astronomical objects, the developments in space exploration, and the past, present, and future of space travel.

    This Mother's Day, build memories with Snapology - Moms and kids will work hand in hand to create one-of-a-kind works of art using LEGOฎ bricks. We'll snap a photo of your experience and help you build a custom LEGOฎ photo frame to take home so you will always remember your special day. A material fee of $12.00 is payable to the instructor at the start of class.
