Show Stars Jazz/Poms is a jazz-based class with a dance team style and dancing with pom poms. Dress Code - Leggings, tank tops, leotards, tights and shorts are acceptable. Black tie or slip-on jazz shoes.

All dancers will participate in a dance recital on Sunday, June 7th at 12:00 pm at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. Please read more information at www.mandasdance.com/mtpr. A $72.00 costume fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee per student, per class, includes recital costume, garment bag and tights.

Why do we do a recital?

Costume Information
• A costume payment of $72 is due at the first class. Check made payable to Manda’s Rhythm & Dance.
• Students are measured in class
• Costumes distruibted in April and May.
• A picture of each costume is posted on the bulletin board outside of the dance room.

Important Dates
• January 18-23 – Costume Payments Due
• March TBA – Recital Tickets on Sale
• May 30 – Last day of classes
• June 4 – Dress Rehearsal at the auditorium
• June 7 – Recital at 12:00pm

Backstage Procedures
• Students are checked in, walked back to their room by a teacher
• Students remain backstage for the entire performance, except for Twinkle Babies and Twinkle Stars who will be allowed to be checked out during intermission
• Students are supervised by volunteers
• Volunteer sign-ups go up in March

Participation Requirements
• Recital participation is not required but highly encouraged! If you do choose to participate in the recital, class attendance is key and dress rehearsal and recital is mandatory. By participating you also agree to follow the rules and to cooperate with all teachers and volunteers. When everyone puts the students first, recital is a great success!
• MTPR dancers perform with Manda’s Rhythm & Dance studio.
